Myobrace®
Myobrace® is a series of removable appliances that form part of Myofunctional Orthodontic treatment. It addresses and focuses on poor oral habits that are the underlying causes of orthodontic problems and incorrect jaw development.
Some habits and signs include; mouth breathing, incorrect tongue position and lips that do not touch in resting position (results in open mouth), crowded and crooked teeth.
The Myobrace® System is especially effective for growing children as it guides jaw development and addresses habits. It therefor focuses on early intervention and is suitable for children from age 3-15.
Myofunctional Orthodontics with the The Myobrace® System evaluates and treats the underlying causes first, developing the jaws to their correct size and shape. Aligning the teeth is usually corrected by the final stage of Myobrace® treatment.
The goal of Myobrace® is to obtain natural development of the jaw and teeth. It may reduce the need for braces at a later stage, but it also serves as an excellent adjunct to braces to address the underlying habits.
